Dallas to Vote on Blood Draw Policy

June 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Dallas is set to vote on possibly becoming one of a growing list of cities with a “no refusal” blood draw policy. This type of policy would mean that anyone stopped on suspicion of drunk driving would be forced to give a blood sample for testing.

The plan is similar to others which require a blood test if a breathalyzer test is refused. The blood is only drawn if a search warrant is issued.

The city is planning on testing the policy over the Independence Day weekend. In addition, it was going to be tested over Memorial Day weekend, if the policy passed the vote.
