Former Longhorn running back Cedric Benson was ordered by a Travis County judge to install an ignition interlock device on his car within three days as a new condition of his bail during a pre-trial hearing. Benson, who faces three misdemeanor charges - boating while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and DWI - was chastised by the judge for his misbehavior as a “role model.”
An ignition interlock device requires the driver to blow into a breathalyzer before starting a car; if the driver’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is higher than the legal limit, the car will not start.
Benson was a first round draft pick for the Chicago Bears in 2005. He was cut after receiving the latest DWI charge.
Being arrested, charged with, and convicted of DWI has serious consequences. If you are facing charges, call Dallas DWI lawyer Mark Lassiter at 214-457-1668 today.
