The restaurants of Woods Hole, Massachusetts will provide impaired customers with $10 taxi rides all summer.

Safe Ride will provide $10 taxi rides to customers of all of the Woods Hole eateriers with liquor licenses for the summer. Falmouth Taxi and the Woods Hole Business Association will also participate in the program which is in its first year.

Selectman and restaurant owner Kevin Murphy got the idea for the program after talking with his daughter. The daughter attends school in Worcester. The school has worked out a deal with the cab companies to get college students home without incident.

The $10 reduced fair is good for any destination within Falmouth. There are some restrictions though. For example, if there is a stop made before the final destination of home, the passenger will have to pay the full fair.
