Pennsylvania Cracking Down on Drunk Drivers

From now through August 31, police officers across Pennsylvania will be celebrated Labor Day weekend by ramping up efforts to catch intoxicated drivers. More than 300 police departments will be teaming up with state police forces to spot, pull over and arrest as many drunk drivers as they can. Like most holidays, Labor Day is a time of increased drinking and therefore increased alcohol-related accidents. In 2007 there were 175 alcohol-related car accidents and 11 deaths over Labor Day weekend in Pennsylvania alone.
